Paper touring car

One of the biggest challenges with paper modeling is replicating compound curves. It is also the thing I find most alluring about the hobby. This model of a Nissan touring car

shows very clearly how it is possible to capture and blend the most subtle of compound curves. When I first saw images of this model I couldn't believe it was made from paper.

The car is not one of my favourites, I don't even follow the touring car circuit very closely. But I just had to see how they had done those curves!

 
 

AH1-S Cobra

These models were built in 2002 from plans drawn up by Yasu Tanaka. I found the plans after completing a 1:10 scale model F1 car as part of a pitch to Vodafone. YAK 54 cockpit detail

Once I had completed the maiden flight on my 30cc radio control YAK a friend sent me some fantastic photos he had taken on the day.
