Bumper brackets

For 356 Speedster replica

This bracket system was developed as an alternative to mounting the bumpers directly onto the replica body with water pipes (Water pipes! come on guys ! No wonder kit cars have a bad name!). Another popular alternative to this uses brackets to mount the front bumper to the front torsion tubes, with disastrous consequences after even a minor front impact. This new system mounts the front bumper to the

body in the same way as it is mounted in the original 356. The rear bumper is mounted securely to the rear rectangular sub frame in a similar fashion to the original car. The main advantage of this system is visual. Currently most replica speedsters on the road look 'wrong' because the bumpers are mounted too low down on the body. This system is designed primarily to allow the bumpers to be adjusted until

they are sitting correctly. Some thought has also been given to protection in the event of a low speed collision (like the pole you never see in the driveway) and the brackets have been shaped so that they mount to key areas where impact forces can be transferred without damaging major chassis components or cracking the fiberglass body.

Porsche 718 Replica

This is a bit of a work in progress so I will post the progress whenever time permits. The main goal is to make an authentic tube frame chassis/space frame which will facilitate a mid engine layout instead of the usual Beetle pan mid engine style layout which, lets be honest, doesn′t make for the best looking car and let′s not even mention the handling!
